Full Moon in Libra April 11, 2017

Full Moon in Libra at 2:08 AM EST this morning and 11:08 PM PST.

We are already in our Full Moon mode – so let’s get to it!

The Full Moon is the culmination of events that you started at the New Moon in Aries.   As we reap the fruits of our labor we can celebrate and further that energy into the next week or two.

The Full Moon in Libra is about how we feel (moon) about relationships and love as well as about how we feel about ourselves in those relationships.  Libra is an air sign and full of ideas about how to communicate with other people.  Libra will add grace and harmony to that communication and may not come across so authentic to the brash and authentic Aries.

When we had the New Moon in Aries we were concerned with asserting ourselves and plowing passionately and courageously toward our desires!  We were hoping that others would follow us down that path.   The Sun in Aries continues to support the self-s need to express one’s identity and purpose AND the Moon in Libra is concerned about maintaining harmonious communication and emotional balance with another (spouse, friend, etc).

The energy that can Heal this opposition is to strike a balance between your needs and the other’s needs.  How to do this?

First, let’s look at the other players in the sky.

The Moon (our emotions, memory and past) is conjunct Jupiter (our ability to elevate ourselves toward good fortune and abundance).  Jupiter grows and expands the Moon’s emotions.   With fixed star Spica, we really do have the support to be successful in our endeavors.  Jupiter is retrograde.  Are we on an emotional high and believe this awesome feeling is where it’s at?  Sometimes, it’s best to ride out the emotional wave before we move forward with a decision.  You know, those one night stands can be incredible until you wake up in the morning and go ‘what the heck was I thinking?’  Well, thinking was the last thing on your mind — it was all this feel good emotion.  Wait.  Reflect.

The Sun is conjunct Uranus so something wild and unexpected could cross our path and change the way we feel about someone or something.  It could make us feel excited about where we are headed and yet cause tension with the Moon and Jupiter.   Uranus could awaken us to our purpose or a higher purpose – it could enlighten us to who we are and who will we be or would like to be in the future.

Exciting change is on the horizon!

Jupiter and Uranus are in a T-square with Pluto –  Where we feel the urge to expand and grow will be opposing where we have had a sudden jolt or awakened to who we are – and this will cause tension and frustration with Pluto – death/rebirth total transformation or power to make significant changes in our lives.  Is someone or something getting in the way of you going after your dreams or are you assuming that this other person or situation is holding you back?  This energy is frustrating for certain because the energy in the collective is that we want to move forward and be happy productive people living out our dreams but there is still something we have to look at.

The practical way to heal this is through assertive communication.    Assertive communication blends the assertive and authentic qualities of Aries with the grace, skill and harmony of Libra communication.

We don’t have to give up our values, our goals, or our reason for being on this plane of existence to achieve what we want or to express what we want.

With all this retrograde energy in the air it is time to slow down and become conscious of what we want, how we want to get there, the structures of our belief systems and if they no longer serve a purpose or function well, and how we can communicate this to others (and ourselves).

Retrograde energy is NOT something to fear or an excuse for not taking responsibility for the chaos that happens in our lives.  Do not hide under a table or isolate yourself!  Retrograde energy activates the shadow side of the planet and the sign that planet travels in.  When we go retrograde, we change direction – meaning that instead of unconsciously doing what we do – we slow down and go within.  We reflect.  When that retrograde goes direct, so do we.  We come out with a new awareness to implement in our lives that will improve the quality of our lives.

Mercury is retrograde in Taurus/Aries – Mercury is our mind and how we think and communicate.  During a retrograde we will download or receive messages (Hermes ruler of Mercury) related to Taurus and Aries areas of our life where we are stuck or operate in shadow elements.  If we aren’t paying attention, then the chaos of Mercury retrograde will certainly get our attention so we can get the message!

I think that this Mercury retrograde is asking us to review our values (Taurus) and lift those values to a higher awareness (exalted Aries).  Expect change in unexpected and exciting ways.  You might get exactly what you’ve always wanted.

My astrological prescription:

  1. Learn and practice assertive communication skills (https://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/Assertiveness.htm, or DBT Skills Workbook https://positivepsychologyprogram.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/DBT-Skills-Workbook.pdf)
  2. Slow down. Take a walk in nature. Breathe deeply.
  3. Go within to reflect upon what is really important to you
  4. Make decisions that support and value who you are and where you want to go in life

Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn/Sagittarius, Dec 19, 2016

Be in this world but not of it.  Perfect mantra for us in regard to the astrological sky – and for us co-dependents!

During a Mercury retrograde – mishaps in communications are likely.  Delays are likely with travel and communication devices.  Do not fear!

This is a time to sharpen up our communication skills.  A time to edit it out what doesn’t work with the story we want to live.  This will play out through the theme of Capricorn/Sagittarius and the houses these signs are in your chart.

Mercury is asking us to reflect and listen more – in many instances, when we communicate with others we place our own spin to what we hear – .  We don’t always say what we think.  We don’t always say what we mean.  We don’t listen to others because we are only listening to what we want to say next in response.  We are talking at one another but not with one another.

So, going within, listening, reflecting – is a good thing – on any day of the week. Going within assists you in promoting change from within outward.

Then, there is the force of your exterior world to change to match your desires.  If we look at the recent events in Aleppo, we see how physical force caused destruction of the structures of the city and the emotional quality of its inhabitants.  This force was executed by a faction of people who desired to snuff out the rebel forces.  Atrocities took place that are supposed to be prevented under international law – and destroyed a historical city and brought so much suffering to its citizens.

So, can you feel it?  Can you feel the tension in the air?  Something must burst to reset itself.  We can look at the astrological position to talk about this –  Mars will conjunct Neptune and the South Node in Pisces, Uranus in Aries opposite Jupiter in Libra, Pluto conjunct the Sun in Capricorn all on New Year’s Day – and I think within the week between Christmas and New Year’s there will be sparks of the angry kind exploding – wanting to explode in our personal lives and in the world at large.

Mars in Pisces conjunct the South Node means we are reverting to actions that are based on old conditioning – and Neptune in the mix has this covert energy about it – so we won’t really know what has hit us – and it is going to make a quincunx to Jupiter (ruler of Pisces) opposite Uranus – so whatever unexpectedly disrupts our fun will bring attention to coming together as a community.   Kind of like the 9-11 kind.  For those who don’t want to make conscious change – the hard shit happens to open our eyes.

The good thing is this trine with Saturn and Uranus.  What comes as a surprise and catches us off guard is something we will be ready to deal with.

Mercury retrograde will pass over the area we just experienced over the last three weeks so we re-experience that same theme.  When it goes direct, it will pass over that area again.  We get to edit and re-edit, revisit and redo – yeah, it’s like we are rewriting a script.

This particular retrograde has already shown me the plot, setting, players and possible results that will be affecting my life – so I’m ever so watchful.

Capricorn falls in my 6th house of routine, work, health and service and Sagittarius, 5th house – what I love to do, my performance, creativity.

My sleep routine has been interrupted by some noisy neighbors who have illegally rented from the tenant and I’ve had maybe 12 hours sleep over the last 3 days.  This contributes to a rather bitchy, Moody gal.  No one wants to piss off a Leo with Leo rising and Moon in Capricorn.  That’s like – not good.  The rigid General appears with strategic battle – to win at all costs!  Mars in Libra tries to sweep all the bullshit and bad feelings under the rug for peace and harmony – and the angry ember is still burning within especially when the pact is broken.  Then all hell breaks loose!

Or not.

My attention is being grabbed with these unexpected twists and turns (Uranus – unexpected, excitement) square Mercury retro as it stations backward – and Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn and ruler of time – is kinda placing a huge red STOP sign in front of me.  Capricorn is the material world, Mercury is the world of the mind – and Sag is ruler of philosophy, truth, and beliefs – so it’s time to disconnect from the material world and the world of the mind to enter into this meditative space to observe and review.

When shit hits the fan, do you try to clean it up?  That’s what I’m doing.  I’m getting involved in other people’s shit and trying to clean up the mess – I’m all up in other people’s shit.

When something happens, we are ‘triggered’ to respond – we have physical sensations that are the result of our emotions.  These emotions ‘trigger’ these thoughts that are a part of our world view – and then we do something about it to relieve the tension.  Or we run from it.  Or we blame others.

Let’s put all that aside (I’m going to), in favor of observing our inner world without doing anything to change it – that brings us into a state of mindfulness – Mercury’s highest evolution is mindfulness.  When we enter into a state of mindfulness we suddenly realize there is nothing to do.  Not yet.  In time, we realize what we do – and that ‘what we do’ if we are to come from a 5D reality — stems from a 5D perspective and not from the physical sensation of emotional intensity reacting.

The 6th house is also work and with Mercury about to go retrograde – I should pay close attention to how I communicate at work and with co-workers – maybe some old clients will return – maybe run into previous co-workers.  I’ve run into two previous co-workers unexpectedly in places I unexpectedly and rarely visit who also had, at the last minute, decide to venture into new territory.

No big deal, you might say. It doesn’t mean a thing.  And yes, it is no big deal.  It doesn’t mean anything except the meaning you give it.  We wouldn’t grow or evolve if we didn’t apply a meaning to something and then investigate this meaning on a deeper level to evoke some inner change.

Remember: As above; so below.

So, allow the machinations of disruption, interference, and possible chaos happen so you aren’t a pawn in the karmic game.

Life is an inner journey.  The outer journey is the experience that you use to understand, learn and grow as a human being.  Or not.  Be an observer of your inner and outer reality – be in this world but not of this world —

Get off the weird mystical tracks that try to make this out to be a magical thinking mystery ride.

Switch the power track from outer to inner – and start the REVOLUTION from within.

The power has always and will always be within you.

New Moon in Sagittarius

As you begin to realize that every different type of music, everybody’s individual music, has its own rhythm, life, language and heritage, you realize how life changes and you learn how to be more open and adaptive to what is around us.   Yo-Yo Ma

The New Moon in Sagittarius (our beliefs) is conjunct the Sun (soul purpose) rising at the horizon projecting our beliefs into the world.   We want everyone to know what we think about (fill in the blank — ).  Jupiter rules Sagittarius – there is an opportunity to expand our beliefs, our philosophy of life and, with an open mind, listen to what others have to say.  Our beliefs are only one-sided when we don’t include another perspective or at least attempt to understand the other side.  We don’t have to agree with anyone to maintain our beliefs – we can stand in our own truth and respect the other side.

Moon is squaring North node in Virgo in the 9th house (ruler of Jupiter and Sagittarius) and South Node in Pisces 3rd house, conjunct Neptune.  This understanding other people’s perspectives will be challenging.  The South Node represents the past, our poor coping skills and Pisces represents illusions.

The North Node is where we are headed and the North Node is in Mercury-ruled Virgo – questioning our beliefs – using discrimination and analysis to sort the bullshit out from the truth.  This is going to be challenging for us to do yet if we want to be the change we wish to see out in the world.  Be open to and flexible to change.

Your thoughts are a like a light switch that affect how you feel.  You have complete control over your inner world. When you change your thoughts, you change your inner world – and therefore, your perceptions of the world shift.
