New Moon in Virgo – Move forward and don’t move

We have another new moon, guys! What a relief after the messy Full Moon in Pisces. Sort of.
Just when you thought you had all the information you needed to move full-steam ahead — DON’T.  Not yet.

The Full Moon in Pisces brought us a hurricane and a mass exodus out of Florida.  Pisces does this to us — bringing our fears to the surface and we run.  Not that you shouldn’t run when you are in danger — with Virgo in the forefront we have been flooded with information and we now think we have the Glorious answers and we know what to do.

Ask yourself, what in your life were you fleeing from and fleeing toward?  Answering this question will help you see what it is you are seeking with this new moon.

A new Moon is always conjunct the Sun.  The new Moon is dark and using the Sun as a source of energy to charge up.  We are taking in the information we have received and separating what’s useful from what is not useful.  This is Virgo’s task as ruled by Mercury and in a mutable sign.  We use discernment before we take action at the full Moon (not before).

We have a T-Square with Moon and Sun in Virgo opposite Chiron in Pisces conjunct the Mid-Heaven and these three planets square Saturn in Sagittarius.  We know we have a problem and we aren’t quite sure how to proceed — but wait — we do know.  No, wait.  Maybe not.  With the mutable T-Square we think we know what decision to make and then we change our mind again.
It’s Chiron’s fault, really.  We have an emotional wound that’s getting in the way of our decision.  Isn’t it true when our emotions get in the way we tend to make irrational decisions?  The information we’ve received is fogged up (Pisces) by our emotional outlook. –

The point of focus is Saturn in Sagittarius. Saturn is foundation, structure, caution, timing.   These wounded emotions cause us to feel like the structure of our lives is falling apart and we should take fast action to repair it.  Okay, so we don’t have pat answers yet, but we do know what the issue is (that emotional wound being triggered).

Let’s look at the Grand Trine Saturn makes with Uranus in Aries and North Node in Leo.
We’ve got some new energy potential that is causing us a lot of excitement and we want to take action and go for it.  We are certain it is a sure thing.

We still have some healing to do — so take your time over the next two weeks before you decide what you want to do with the information you’ve received.  Use discernment, talk it out.  You’ll be glad you did.

The Full Moon will be in Aries in two weeks and you will be able to make progress at that point.  The cool thing is that when you wait for clarity — you find the gold you seek.

Evolving and Understanding our Moon

The Moon is merely a reflection of the Sun’s light.  We cannot have the Moon without the Sun, the masculine without the feminine, or our past without our future.  The challenge is to unite our past and our future so we are living fully in the present moment.  The Moon, as all other planets, supports our purpose and guides us toward that purpose.

Sometimes, we may not be fully living in our Sun’s light; we are living and expressing ourselves predominately through another planet.  When this happens we are expressing the elements of that planet more than we are any other planet.   We, then, become misaligned or out of balance when we let one planet lead the way over all the others.  It happens to everyone but not everyone admits it.  No one is alone in this, please know this deep fact.  The grass is only greener on the other side because of our perception – not because the grass is actually greener.

The Moon is our past, our habits, our emotional patterns, our unconscious, our need to receive emotional security, our mother, our sense of belonging, our fears, how we instinctually react – and all of these elements hold us back from fulfilling our purpose and standing in the light of our Sun’s rays.

We all have baggage to varying degrees and, therefore, got shit to work on.  No big deal, right?

We want to begin to understand how we unconsciously operate so we start to embody the more helpful and healthful ways of expressing ourselves.  This starts with awareness of our unhelpful or maladaptive patterns and elements that hold us back and cause us unhappiness.  With that awareness, comes responsibility – and we look to our Saturn for that piece.

It’s much easier to blame someone else for our lot in life, isn’t it?  When we do blame, does that change our lot in life?  We still have shit to deal with so we better start dealing, right?

The ways that I have found helpful and would like to impart this knowledge to you is thus:

  1. Meditation – when you commit to a daily practice of meditation you become aware of your thoughts and thought patterns, your physical sensations and emotions
  2. Identify triggers –
    1. situations – what situations trigger ‘negative’ thoughts or emotions?
    2. thoughts – what thoughts are arising? What thought patterns do you notice?
    3. emotions – what are you feeling in response to these situational triggers and thoughts?

When we have an emotional response, we will notice that we start thinking about that or have some sort of judgment about that emotion.  These thoughts increase the intensity of the emotions.  So, our thoughts are a light switch that increases or decreases the amount of intensity of emotion.

3. Nutrition – the Moon is about how we get our nutritional and emotional needs met. So, when we are eating a balanced diet this supports a healthy functioning body and supports our emotions.  Correct nutrition balances our mood, excites the right chemicals and supports our emotional well-being.  When we are not eating well, we feel irritated, ungrounded, heavy, etc.   The key is eating a good portion of vegetables, protein, carbs, fruit and fats.

4. Intuition – we begin to access our intuition in deeper ways through meditation and eating a balanced diet. We all have intuition.   We all have a place in which we ‘hear’ the decisions we need to make in any situation.  We will feel it in our body.  It will not be our mind, yet our mind will interpret that response and, perhaps, talk us out of it. Focus on building intuition.

This is our Moon work.

Our intuition, balanced nutritional health, identifying and restructuring our thoughts and thought patterns, emotional triggers and emotions, and meditation support us as we move forward to fulfill our purpose: the glorious light of our Sun sign.

Full Moon in Cancer — Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Full Moon Shine in Cancer – 22 degrees –6:33AM

Get Ready for Ch-ch-ch-changes – they are coming.  Exciting times are ahead of us!

This upcoming full Moon in Cancer will be making a Grand Cardinal Cross in the sky – with opposition of Sun/Pluto in Capricorn, Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries.  A grand cross happens in the sky when four planets square one another – 90 degree angles.  These four planets are also in opposition to another planet – 180 degree angle.  This type of configuration creates tension and challenge.  The opposition lends an either/or scenario – something is separated and opposed.  Cardinal means – ACTION!  During this Mercury retrograde, we have had plenty of time to reflect and now we can take action to resolve the tension.  Changes are afoot with this configuration and unexpected change at that.

The moon is at home in Cancer – and with the backdrop of the constellation Gemini – differing opinions (been going on in the world for quite some time) these opposing opinions could turn into arguments – when your security is threatened, what do you do? Do you react in a way that causes a shit storm – or do you have good mediation skills?  We could use our skills of reflection and mindfulness (you’ve been practicing, right?) – we know what we feel, we know how to cope and consciously we can intend to take the right action.

Now, with this grand cardinal square we have some helpers to make the emotional tension bearable  – we’ve got Neptune conjunct Venus which is a wonderful aspect for romance and adventure – music, poetry – art – and idealism.  This aspect is making a biquintile with the Full Moon – so a talent for lifting our mood is to create, create, create – listen to your favorite music, write some poetry, go see a movie or to an art gallery.  Get thee to the art house now!

We have Mars trine the Moon and sextile Sun – Saturn sextile Jupiter and Saturn trine Uranus.

We can harmonize our actions with our emotions by bringing attention to our intentions.  Saturn sextile Jupiter puts the brakes on overdoing it – even though the Moon in Cancer will want comfort and security – we have to push ourselves past our comfort zone – Cancer is about emotional security.  Playing it safe keeps us stuck in past conditioning – Instead of writing this blog, I could sit on the sofa and eat bon bons and pizza all night while watching re-runs of Doctor Who (which isn’t that bad of an idea) – or I could do something more productive that pushes me out of my comfort zone – could it be vlogging instead of blogging?

We also have Saturn trine Uranus – so if we focus on grounding ourselves in our bodies – we can limit the amount of shock waves that run through us.  If you’ve ever practiced deep breathing or meditation – over time this practice makes conflict easier to deal with – and more present and grounded.

Try this loving kindness meditation during your full moon ritual.

Let’s Talk – Gemini Full Moon

Gemini Full Moon at 7:05 PM EST – 4:05PM PST

In this age, which believes that there is a shortcut to everyone, the greatest lesson to be learned is that the most difficult way is, in the long run, the easiest.  Henry Miller

For some people, glossing over the truth is the easiest way to avoid potential conflict and have other people approve of us.  In some instances, avoiding communication altogether is a way to escape conflict that ‘might’ arise out of telling our truth.

Gemini is not known for emotional depth; it’s known for facts and information and communicating that information to others.  Gemini is known for its witty and clever quality – not necessarily concerned with the truth (that’s Sagitarrius’ domain).  This Full Moon in Gemini is not one of those moons.

The Full Moon illuminates Gemini so it brings to light information or facts that we previously weren’t aware of, perhaps even hidden from us.   The Full Moon is opposing Saturn in Sagittarius so there are some serious conversations we must have.

Let’s talk.

These two words, for some reason, sum up a lot of fear. We can’t have fun all the time.   Sometimes, we have to have those very difficult conversations with people about where we are coming from.  Conversations we don’t want to have because we are afraid of what others will think, afraid someone will leave us, afraid we will lose our job – afraid we will look like a weirdo – this is the time to put on your big girl pants.

In the Eastern time zone, the moon is moving through the 12th house of endings and karma – so we see here the culmination of our actions.  When we understand how our actions resulted in our circumstances, we can then let go, move on, transform our lives.

This is going to be easy to deal with because we have the full moon making a grand trine in air signs – so lots of talk (not the Mystical kind, yet).  By the next new Moon we know what it is we want to do differently.

Moon trine Jupiter in Libra and Mars in Aquarius – so these sobering talks we have will be about harmony, peace, social justice – and Uranus in Aries will add an unexpected spark to the mix as it sextiles the moon and trines the sun and Saturn – I think some really good things will come out of what we talk about.

You’ll be glad you did.

Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn is going to affect this Full Moon – stay tuned for more —

Taurus Full Moon

Full Moon Monday, November 14  8:52 AM EST — 5:52 AM PST

The Full Moon is the moment of possibility and birth of our new moon manifestation.  You have done the work, now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor – and, continue forward with new knowledge and information you did not have at the beginning of the New Moon.

The Moon in Taurus – opposing the Sun in Scorpio– how will we balance these opposites?  The Sun is expressing intense conflicts that have arisen that portend a transformation – and the Moon wants to solidify this expression into material form – something tangible and meaningful –   How do we relate to the relationships in our life now that the shit has hit the fan?  Do we fight?  Do we ex-communicate (if you do that it Scorpio, it sticks) – or do we find a way to come together collectively (The Sun in 11th house) and do what’s right for all instead of what’s right for some?

The chart of the Full Moon has the Sun in 11th house at the cusp of the 12th and moon moving the 5th house.  What risks will and should we take toward feeling safe and protected?  What boundaries are important and not important?  The 5th house is about risk, children, what we love to do – it’s where we perform – what will we do individually that contributes to the collective?  11th house is the collective — and with Scorpio here, it’s about quality not quantity.

The pattern in the sky is a locomotive pattern and this is a very powerful pattern.  Power will emerge from a strong sense of lack or need – will we be looking for someone else to ‘fix’ the problem (collectively) and in our personal lives?  The empty houses that this full moon will need to fulfill are the 6th– 9th houses – about how we relate to one another (any kind of one-on-one partnership) in our daily lives (6th house) and use the information (Gemini in 6th, and Cancer in 7th) we have gleaned to form our beliefs and philosophy of life and of the world at large?

The North Node is in Virgo in the 9th house – as a nation we are called to heal the our beliefs and philosophy of life (and heal the wounds those beliefs and philosophies of life have caused others — healing shame, blame, guilt, illusion)– Virgo is mutable – and so we are adjusting our beliefs — Will it be my way or the highway?  What can we do on a microcosmic level that will move us toward the change we need on a macrocosmic livel? Are our goals too Lofty to be reached or too fixed to adjust?

This weekend, Venus forms a sextile to Neptune and trine to North Node – the energy is there to harmonize and cooperate to reach our goals – and to create art, music, literature (or merely view, listen, or read it) – and to open our hearts and come from a place of LOVE.
