New Moon in Scorpio — You Know

I’m a little bit late with the new Moon post — was having some computer issues that are now fixed.

The new Moon is a time to plant seeds, start something new, or a fresh start on
an old project. A new Moon is also a good time to release or banish unwanted
habits or emotional blockages that you have noticed get in the way of what
you want to create. Yes, you can do that at the Full Moon, too — the dark of the
New Moon is a perfect time to absorb that which you want to rid yourself of so you
have more room to start whatever you want to start. Then you can draw to you
want you want to attract.  You knew that anyway, didn’t you?

This new Moon is in Scorpio. A fixed water sign, Scorpio calls out to us from
the depths of our being to be brutally honest about who we are and what we want.
Scorpio will help us clear out the toxins — a perfect time to do a shamanic soul
retrieval.

The Sun in Scorpio provides the strength to highlight those areas we have overlooked — it’s like shining a magnifying glass on a splinter.  You see it.  You got it.  You can extract it.  No problem.

Now, the interesting thing with this New Moon is the only major aspect is
with Uranus in Aries .  Uranus is electricity, eccentricity, unexpected, surprise
and excitement — in Aries.  Aries is not a guy who is patient.  He wants to take action pronto!

Uranus is quincunx the Moon.  This is a difficult aspect where an adjustment needs to be made between the Moon and Uranus.  The Moon and Uranus communicate well on their own but not so much together .   We could receive amazing and unexpected insights about the direction of our lives or certain thought patterns that have been blocking us.  We just see them like we hadn’t before and we just want to take action on those
insights.  I encourage you to wait. Yeah, I say that a lot, don’t I?

Let’s say you have this insight that you should quit your job and become an actress — what you’ve always wanted to do or you decide it’s time to leave your significant other or sell your house, or go on a fad diet to lose 20 pounds in 1 week.   I encourage you to do your research first.  Be practical.

Chiron is in Pisces making a trine aspect to the Moon. Chiron is the wounded healer.  It is with Chiron’s help that we can heal our wounds.  In this new Moon position it is healing deep emotional wounds that have blocked us from moving forward.

Jupiter aligned with Venus helps us to expand our values, and grow from these insights and deep healing.

Mars in Libra is in it’s opposite sign of Aries — Mars in Aries is the warrior
who takes action and thinks only of himself. Mars in Libra always thinks about the other before taking action.  This is what makes Mars in Libra the diplomat or the pleaser, the lover and not the fighter.  Use the energy of Mars to discuss your insights with others
before you take action.

Well, that’s it folks. If you celebrate Thanksgiving — have a good one!

A Little Pluto with your Scorpio

On the Scorpio New Moon, I made an intention to be more truthful with myself, to dive deep and pull out the roots of old conditioning that clouded my ability to be true and authentic.  I’m a Leo with Leo rising and the Sun is not too far from the Ascendant – oh, darkness?  Piece of cake!

So I can have this child-like attitude that facing my truth is going to be like shining a flashlight on a bed post.  It’s only a bed post, for heaven’s sake.  I forget about where I need to travel to get to that truth (until it really is just a bed post) – it’s not always a jolly journey (if you know what I mean!).  Scorpio laughs at the cavalier Leo – you can’t burn away your demons and dragons without facing some sort of fear.  And hence we have the secondary ruler of Scorpio, Pluto, snatching me into the underworld – not entirely against my will —  yet with such audacity.

The New Moon is all about planting the seeds that you want to manifest – and you can manifest by intending to go deeper and deeper.  What happens when you release during a New Moon – should you ask the release to wait until the Full Moon?  Does it mean you are out of sync with the cycles of nature if you aren’t on schedule?  What does it mean to be ‘in tune’ and ‘in the flow’?

To be honest, sometimes, I just don’t get it.  There is so much misinformation out there on how all things ‘spiritual’ work that it creates this dysfunction between you, your body and the truth.  While I’m sitting in my alchemy lab investigating, dissecting, understanding, applying — I come to find a different truth — people are out there manifesting up a storm and living successful lives (really, they’re only telling you about the successes and not the failures)– I’m still trying to figure out how to tie my shoes and what the word ‘manifesting’ really means. You can’t get to the manifesting if you aren’t clear about what you want.  Yet, sometimes, manifestations occur with a fleeting thought and a forgetful mind.

Pluto is also about fear and confrontation and power struggles.   These are always internal power struggles with self and/or other.  For example,  I fight with my inner demons.  I argue with the darkness and tell it to go away.  I dispute my unhelpful thought patterns and do affirmations.  Does anything ever resolve itself with arguing?  We stay at the same level when we have little understanding —

It is the Leo way to play with one’s demons – because demons aren’t real, right?  They’re really mice in disguise.  And in the end, I can be the hero for having slayed my demons – and people will cheer me on as pass by in a regal motorcade and crown me as the Queen – oh, wait – that is the Neptune fantasy keeping me from my task at hand.

Pluto will only accept what’s true.  You can’t control other people’s perceptions of you no matter how hard you try —

So, Pluto, then is about removing masks and seeing people, yourself and the darkness for who and what they really are.

Wherever Pluto is in your chart and wherever Pluto is transiting in your chart is where you need to be most truthful.

Questions to ask yourself:

Where do you need to be most truthful and what do you need to be most truthful about?

Where do you hold the most fear?

How is this fear controlling your life?  What would be the worst thing that would happen and if you avoid it, will it never happen?

Will you always be in fear?

What would it take for you to face your fears?

What would you have to do?

As we continue through the last week of Scorpio  — encourage yourself to commit to your intentions – take that extra step – go a little bit further and deeper.  Keep yourself in alignment with your whole being – that nagging voice – it may be your intuition speaking to you – or it may be your mind trying to talk you out of something wonderful. Or is it your mind trying to talk you into something not quite right?

Scorpio is the best time for diving deeper into the unknown because what you will find will enrich your life and make you whole again.  We can’t know how far we can go until we actually go.

New Moon in Scorpio October 30th: Inner Transformation

The bogeyman is every child’s worst nightmare – and a fear tactic that parents would use to scare their children into being good little boys or girls.  The bogeyman hides in dark closets, underneath beds and in the air vents and only comes out when the lights are turned off.  If you are brave enough to open a closet door and check underneath your bed – you will see that there really is nothing there.  The big fears that overwhelm us aren’t as terrifying and large when you shine a light on them.

This upcoming New Moon in Scorpio is the perfect time to face the inner bogeyman – to look into those inner secret hiding places we don’t want to look and shine some light.   Scorpio is the queen of Transformation and doing deep inner work.  Scorpio is ruled by Mars and in Aries, Mars takes outer action, while in Scorpio there is a desire to taken inner action – to purge the shadow and evolve some aspect of ourselves.

The new Moon is the beginning of a lunar cycle that begins in darkness.  It is a highly intuitive time perfect for seeding new something.  Scorpio is a fixed water sign  and desires more intimacy, connection, power and responsibility.  This energy supports digging deep and focusing your energy on one main problem and probe a little deeper into the mysterious depths.

What are you most afraid of?  How intense is your fear?  What are you telling yourself about this fear?  Where do you feel this in your body?  Follow this emotion and let it speak to you – are you telling yourself that you aren’t worthy enough?  That you don’t matter?  That the world is a dangerous place?  That you are unlovable? Stupid? Wrong? Unattractive?  That you can’t trust anyone?  Are you telling yourself that you can’t change and are powerless?

Once you determine what your thought patterns are around this fear – challenge the evidence and then find a more balanced interpretation.  If you’re interested in diving even deeper, I suggest a superb book by Erin Olivo, Wise Mind Living: Master Your Emotions, Transform Your Life a perfect gift to yourself during this Scorpio season.

Our negative emotions are perfectly normal  – we will be prone to negative emotions – it is not ‘unspiritual’ to be emotionally triggered – it happens.  It is what we do (our actions or lack of actions) once we have those emotions where we run into problems.

With Venus conjunct Saturn we have a seriousness that lends itself to this new moon – and it’s in Sagittarius a sign that is not used to limitation and the straight and narrow.   That’s the lesson – how much energy do you have to expend?  How much partying can you do?  How much spending?  Sagittarius is a mutable sign and so we are working on adjusting and adapting to new beliefs and philosophies around where we are prone to excess.

Seriousness is enough to trigger some people into a mild depression – when we are face-to-face with our shadow elements – we are not feeling joyful and ready to face the day.  Are you able to hold off on that joy for just a little while until you pull those roots out and feel like a new person?

Pluto is assisting this journey and kind of like a tour guide – saying – hey, let me take you on a tour of all your deeply rooted issues – and let’s choose which one to work on – this also lends itself to ease and psychic vibes to open up and let go of what no longer services us.  Neptune is in an easy aspect to the new moon – just be careful that we aren’t deluding ourselves about our goals or habits – the psychic waves can open.

So is this a negative or positive new moon?  How can fear, shadow and bad feelings be positive?  It’s really a matter of perspective – if you face your negative emotions – you reduce the amount of emotional charge (emotions do subside over time like a wave).  If you don’t, usually our thought process keeps the negativity alive and if we don’t feel comfortable with those darker feelings – abandon them in favor of more positive emotions – we bury our darkness within.  It’s like sweeping dirt under a rug.  You don’t see the dirt – it doesn’t mean it isn’t there doing damage.

The transformational perspective is to let go of what we think is negative or positive and just be here, totally present and alive to this moment – a so very Scorpio thing to be.

Now Mars and Pluto are conjunct in Capricorn square Jupiter and Uranus.  Jupiter’s beliefs and philosophy are conflicting with the status quo and power plays are likely – or perhaps our desire to change and transform old beliefs are coming up against some friction.  Uranus shocks us and ignites some unexpected anxiety.

The best thing to do is keep a cool head and listen to your intuition.

Happy Transformation!
