New Moon in Virgo – Move forward and don’t move

We have another new moon, guys! What a relief after the messy Full Moon in Pisces. Sort of.
Just when you thought you had all the information you needed to move full-steam ahead — DON’T.  Not yet.

The Full Moon in Pisces brought us a hurricane and a mass exodus out of Florida.  Pisces does this to us — bringing our fears to the surface and we run.  Not that you shouldn’t run when you are in danger — with Virgo in the forefront we have been flooded with information and we now think we have the Glorious answers and we know what to do.

Ask yourself, what in your life were you fleeing from and fleeing toward?  Answering this question will help you see what it is you are seeking with this new moon.

A new Moon is always conjunct the Sun.  The new Moon is dark and using the Sun as a source of energy to charge up.  We are taking in the information we have received and separating what’s useful from what is not useful.  This is Virgo’s task as ruled by Mercury and in a mutable sign.  We use discernment before we take action at the full Moon (not before).

We have a T-Square with Moon and Sun in Virgo opposite Chiron in Pisces conjunct the Mid-Heaven and these three planets square Saturn in Sagittarius.  We know we have a problem and we aren’t quite sure how to proceed — but wait — we do know.  No, wait.  Maybe not.  With the mutable T-Square we think we know what decision to make and then we change our mind again.
It’s Chiron’s fault, really.  We have an emotional wound that’s getting in the way of our decision.  Isn’t it true when our emotions get in the way we tend to make irrational decisions?  The information we’ve received is fogged up (Pisces) by our emotional outlook. –

The point of focus is Saturn in Sagittarius. Saturn is foundation, structure, caution, timing.   These wounded emotions cause us to feel like the structure of our lives is falling apart and we should take fast action to repair it.  Okay, so we don’t have pat answers yet, but we do know what the issue is (that emotional wound being triggered).

Let’s look at the Grand Trine Saturn makes with Uranus in Aries and North Node in Leo.
We’ve got some new energy potential that is causing us a lot of excitement and we want to take action and go for it.  We are certain it is a sure thing.

We still have some healing to do — so take your time over the next two weeks before you decide what you want to do with the information you’ve received.  Use discernment, talk it out.  You’ll be glad you did.

The Full Moon will be in Aries in two weeks and you will be able to make progress at that point.  The cool thing is that when you wait for clarity — you find the gold you seek.

Full Moon in Virgo Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 10:52 AM EST, 7:52 AM PST

The full Moon will be in Virgo and illuminating our health, daily routines and the work environment.  The daily home routines we encounter such as taking the trash out, cleaning the toilets and scrubbing the scum from the tiles in our shower or dusting behind the fridge, feel like a burden.  Even so, there are routine tasks of care in all aspects of our life.  At work, it may be the details in our paperwork, phone calls, filling out our time cards, driving through traffic – and then our self-care like eating healthy and taking frequent breaks or that massage you’ve been putting off.

Okay, not everyone can afford a massage – even so —  you have two hands and can do it yourself.  You don’t want to because it’s too taxing.  So, instead, you turn on the tele or eat your favorite ice cream.  Habits and comfort zone keeps us stagnant and not too fulfilled in the long-term.

Virgo can be prone to critical rumination when it is faced with doing something it doesn’t like or want to do. These critical mental Pattern cause us to make less healthy choices.

When the New Moon was in Pisces two weeks ago we weren’t thinking about spring cleaning or making healthier food choices.   We didn’t mind going out for a drink with our friends, dancing into the wee hours of the morning – or doing yoga, meditation or reading poetry to our loved ones.

Any mundane activity pales in comparison to a yoga session or clubbing with our friends.  Yet, these mundane activities are what keep our homes clean, us free of illness, and our minds less cluttered.

With the moon feeling tense vibes from Saturn we find these mundane routines stifling.  We might even hear the distant voice of our mother telling us to clean our room or make the bed – even worse – wash the dishes.

The moon is challenged by Mercury and the Sun.  Our mind wants to forge ahead and overlook the minute details and our deepest internal needs.   Chiron conjunct this Mercury/Sun configuration – we feel we can’t go out with our friends because we have homework to do.

The excitement of Uranus dashing our plans or taking us away from our plans is another sign that we just can’t find any peace in our lives or get shit done.  Or can you?

What is the resolution?

We have Pluto trine the Moon which provides emotional power to deepen our commitments to ourselves.

If we focus on the perceived drudgery as a spiritual task we can move our New Moon wish toward completion.  We can be spiritual, clean our toilets and have fun while we do it.

Let’s face it, don’t you feel better with a clean house, a clear mind and a cleaner body?

New Moon in Capricorn

A Renewal: New Moon in Capricorn conjuncts Mercury retrograde, Uranus opposite Jupiter, Mars conjunct the South Node.

As Mercury is still in retrograde – at its midpoint- when you plant your new Moon seeds, let them simmer longer than you normally would– reflect more deeply about what you want to create for the long-term.  2017 is going to be a long ride and unusual ride.

Capricorn is an earth sign and earth is more receptive to the outer world.  Saturn, the lord of time, its ruler – this is a seed that needs to be planted deep in the earth and watered and cared for correctly – as you plan on building structure and foundation to those things you want to last.

This new Moon is asking us if there is anything we have done in the past that we would like to try again, this time with more refinement, more responsibility, less emotionality —  that benefits humanity in some way.  No tall order, here.  We can benefit humanity by being more mindful and cleaning up our side of the fence.

Uranus is still in opposition of Jupiter and Mar is conjunct the South Node and Neptune.  Are we going to hold on to the past and react in old conditioned ways?  We can move toward understanding what triggers us and find healthier coping skills to deal.  Perhaps, we all can benefit from an attitude change – whatever will burst –  the energy is calling for us to move toward that Virgo energy – discern, discriminate, analyze – and as Virgo is all about health – start finding new ways to live a healthier life.

I wish you all a safe and joyous New Year!

New Moon in Sagittarius

As you begin to realize that every different type of music, everybody’s individual music, has its own rhythm, life, language and heritage, you realize how life changes and you learn how to be more open and adaptive to what is around us.   Yo-Yo Ma

The New Moon in Sagittarius (our beliefs) is conjunct the Sun (soul purpose) rising at the horizon projecting our beliefs into the world.   We want everyone to know what we think about (fill in the blank — ).  Jupiter rules Sagittarius – there is an opportunity to expand our beliefs, our philosophy of life and, with an open mind, listen to what others have to say.  Our beliefs are only one-sided when we don’t include another perspective or at least attempt to understand the other side.  We don’t have to agree with anyone to maintain our beliefs – we can stand in our own truth and respect the other side.

Moon is squaring North node in Virgo in the 9th house (ruler of Jupiter and Sagittarius) and South Node in Pisces 3rd house, conjunct Neptune.  This understanding other people’s perspectives will be challenging.  The South Node represents the past, our poor coping skills and Pisces represents illusions.

The North Node is where we are headed and the North Node is in Mercury-ruled Virgo – questioning our beliefs – using discrimination and analysis to sort the bullshit out from the truth.  This is going to be challenging for us to do yet if we want to be the change we wish to see out in the world.  Be open to and flexible to change.

Your thoughts are a like a light switch that affect how you feel.  You have complete control over your inner world. When you change your thoughts, you change your inner world – and therefore, your perceptions of the world shift.

Taurus Full Moon

Full Moon Monday, November 14  8:52 AM EST — 5:52 AM PST

The Full Moon is the moment of possibility and birth of our new moon manifestation.  You have done the work, now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor – and, continue forward with new knowledge and information you did not have at the beginning of the New Moon.

The Moon in Taurus – opposing the Sun in Scorpio– how will we balance these opposites?  The Sun is expressing intense conflicts that have arisen that portend a transformation – and the Moon wants to solidify this expression into material form – something tangible and meaningful –   How do we relate to the relationships in our life now that the shit has hit the fan?  Do we fight?  Do we ex-communicate (if you do that it Scorpio, it sticks) – or do we find a way to come together collectively (The Sun in 11th house) and do what’s right for all instead of what’s right for some?

The chart of the Full Moon has the Sun in 11th house at the cusp of the 12th and moon moving the 5th house.  What risks will and should we take toward feeling safe and protected?  What boundaries are important and not important?  The 5th house is about risk, children, what we love to do – it’s where we perform – what will we do individually that contributes to the collective?  11th house is the collective — and with Scorpio here, it’s about quality not quantity.

The pattern in the sky is a locomotive pattern and this is a very powerful pattern.  Power will emerge from a strong sense of lack or need – will we be looking for someone else to ‘fix’ the problem (collectively) and in our personal lives?  The empty houses that this full moon will need to fulfill are the 6th– 9th houses – about how we relate to one another (any kind of one-on-one partnership) in our daily lives (6th house) and use the information (Gemini in 6th, and Cancer in 7th) we have gleaned to form our beliefs and philosophy of life and of the world at large?

The North Node is in Virgo in the 9th house – as a nation we are called to heal the our beliefs and philosophy of life (and heal the wounds those beliefs and philosophies of life have caused others — healing shame, blame, guilt, illusion)– Virgo is mutable – and so we are adjusting our beliefs — Will it be my way or the highway?  What can we do on a microcosmic level that will move us toward the change we need on a macrocosmic livel? Are our goals too Lofty to be reached or too fixed to adjust?

This weekend, Venus forms a sextile to Neptune and trine to North Node – the energy is there to harmonize and cooperate to reach our goals – and to create art, music, literature (or merely view, listen, or read it) – and to open our hearts and come from a place of LOVE.

Re-aligning ourselves to nature season by season and sign by sign —

The only constant in this world, the only thing we can depend upon, is change.  We experience change on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis with the fluctuation of light and dark, hot and cold, barren and abundant – The earth is breathing life through its cycles just as we breathe air into our bodies.

Our inner lives are deeply interconnected to the changing of the seasons.  As within, so without.   As above, so below.

You already knew that.  You just forgot.  Our attention is so focused on the outer that we stray from the inner – we then want to reach out to the heavens and transcend our physical reality – before we understand what it’s like to be a human in this physical body in this 3rd dimensional plane of reality.

This 3rd dimension is just as spiritual as 5th dimension – the only difference is perspective.  You still need a physical body as you evolve –

Let’s continue —

Every season holds the promise of a new beginning (Cardinal) that we strengthen and unify through the fixed seasons.  When we reach the mutable seasons we take what we have strengthened and unified and we tweak it, organize it, improve it – as we prepare for another new beginning.

The elements also play a part in this cyclical change.  Fire and Air are the masculine qualities of Aquarius, Gemini, Libra, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius – these modalities project outward and upward.  The water and earth signs, Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio are the feminine qualities that reflect downward and within.

The Zodiac begins with Aries

Ah!  Aries energy pulsates and forces its way into our lives just like springtime.   It’s time to plant our seeds and plow the fields.  It takes up a good amount of our energy to do this.  We must not be afraid to use our strength and forceful qualities – we have to eat – right? We are learning how to prepare for life – for the year ahead.  Daylight is increasing and we want more freedom and independence.  We are pushing our energy into the world with the element of fire.

We can only push for so long – before we need to hone those skills, continue to care for the seeds we’ve planted so that they will thrive – a consistency to our tasks – to continue and prepare the crops for the eventual harvest.  The land is ripe and fertile as we move into Taurus – this fixed, stable, wealthy sign is ruled by Venus, the goddess of love and fertility.  We honor Venus through the ritual of May Day – and mating with our beloveds.  It’s a sensual time connecting with the fecundity of the earth – daylight is greater and still increasing — we want our values to match our actions.

As we move into Gemini, daylight is continuing to increase and is greater so we spend even more time outdoors – we are in a mutable sign and acclimatizing to the growth – and we are excited to share to anyone who will listen.  We want to celebrate and exchange ideas – for the sake of doing so (Mercury ruling Gemini in its projective quality).

The Summer Solstice is a time of new beginnings – the beginning of summer and the longest day of the year.  Nighttime increases and daylight is greater.  Cancer rules the beginning of summer —   School is out and we are spending more time with water – going to the lake, swimming in pools or going to the beach.  We want to belong more with others and make commitments– Cancer is all about emotional security and motherhood – so we are connecting to the source that gives us life – our family.  There is this inner connection we begin to have with the world around us.

We want to take this inner connection and incorporate that into our daily lives with those we like to play with.   We want to linger and languor like Lions – we want to maintain summer for as long as we possibly can (fixed) before we go back to work and school.  Most of Europe vacations during August – the crops are ripening. We don’t want to lose our individuality as we strive to belong and make commitments.

We can’t lay around forever; we need have work to do!

Fall is coming – Virgo is here – ruled by Mercury, the inner, reflective manifestation of Mercury.  This mutable quality allows us to separate ‘the wheat from the chaff’ so to speak.  We use that Virgo discernment to determine what we keep that is useful and what we throw away.

School has started and we are adjusting to our new schedule – we might take on more hours at work so we can have more money for the upcoming holiday.  Nighttime is increasing and daylight is still greater – and we want to commit even more to spending every last moment we can in the sun and nature before we retire early and spend more time inside with others.

When Libra approaches darkness is increasing and nighttime is greater – there is a push toward winter preparations and taking midterm exams.  Venus rules Libra here and as nighttime is increasing we are moving toward more intimacy and sharing.  Who wants to sit inside alone during winter months?  Not the Libra!

Scorpio wants a warm body to snuggle up to (is snuggle the right word for Scorpio intimacy?).  It’s also the time when nighttime is continuing to increase and the days are much shorter.  The veil between worlds is thin.  We celebrate Scorpio with Halloween — We are in touch with this spirit world as we pay respects to our ancestors.  Scorpio is a fixed sign ruled by Mars so we do more inner purging of all that no longer serves us so that we can transform and be reborn (Scorpio’s gift!).  Pluto has been given secondary rulership over Scorpio – to further drive the point home that we are going deep within our darkness to find the light.  We want more intimacy with one another!

We have gone deep and purged and we want to shine our light with others –through the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius.  The winter solstice is right around the corner, Christmas and New Year’s not far away – we are becoming excited again and we want to celebrate.  Usually around Thanksgiving, we start to decorate our homes and the city officials decorate the town with lights – we gather as a community for the lighting ceremony.

Jupiter rules Sagittarius –we have learned something about our journey to the underworld and what will not serve us as we move forward into a new year.  We want to celebrate this light and party harty with everyone!  Nighttime is still greater and continuing to increase — and we still want involvement with others — and yet just a bit more freedom than Scorpio is comfortable with.

It makes sense that Saturn is upon us with the ushering in of Capricorn and the Winter Solstice.  We just spent too much money on gifts, ate too much food over the holidays and now we want to make our New Year’s commitment to exercising more and losing weight (as well as saving money and working longer hours to make up for what we spent).  The energy of Saturn wants to restrict and the cardinal modality wants to push that restriction and structure of commitment.  We want more freedom while we maintain responsibility.

As daylight increases, we mold these new commitments we’ve made into the fixed sign of Aquarius.  We are changing, the weather is about to change – college courses resume, we are looking forward to what the future may hold with new ideas (air) and communications with others – if we’ve been holed up inside due to the cold – we want to socialize and be with others.  We want to share what we’ve learned over the winter months.

We are ready to open our hearts and connect back into the world through Pisces – we feel like we’ve been through this before – so we feel like old souls returning, adjusting to what we have learned and preparing for a new beginning.  Snow is melting into water, we are walking around in slush – before we begin again, we are reflecting upon the whole year and continuing to purge that which we haven’t already let go of – for if we do not – we are sure to deceive and delude ourselves.  This is really the season of letting everything go —

Aries will insist upon it.
